Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Alpha-lipoic acid is a compound that is a cofactor in vital energy-producing reactions in the body. Most of these reactions occur in the mitochondria. These reactions include the oxidation of pyruvic acid and the branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine. It is also a potent biological antioxidant.
