Lutein

Lutein is a member of the carotenoid family. It is a natural, fat-soluble pigment found in some foods and is also a constituent of the pigment of the eye. Lutein has been shown to have antioxidant effects, protecting the cells in the eyes from free radical damage. It may be protective against age-related increases in lens density and cataract formation.
